Hi there!

Many know us as the "young family battling ALS".

That title feels all-consuming most days.  But, we want to introduce you to the part that remains in tact despite ALS!

So many things have changed for us as our time and energy can't be spent on the things we once enjoyed. But, we still find glimmers of joy in the little things!

We have two precious kiddos - Talia and Benny- and they bring some major energy, laughs and spice to our lives. Parenting has been such a gift, even on the days where we both feel inadequate. We both love a cup of strong coffee (black for Justin and cream for me!) I can hardly remember life before our Jura coffee machine (a 40th birthday gift from some dear friends!). We love being outside, and our crew is quite a sight when we take neighborhood walks. Usually someone is on a bike or scooter and the other hitching a ride on Justin, while mom is trying to keep up! Our prayer times with each other, worship nights with friends, and heart to hearts keep us connected. Our community has literally held us together and constantly tends to our needs to help us find joy.  Justin maintains his title as a steady rock and Lori continues to push our family towards the intentional and authentic.

One day we hope to get back to other things we deeply love, but can't do right now:

For Justin, that looks like: running and playing on the ground with his kiddos, backpacking, traveling and being outside, conversations in large groups of people, opening the door for Lori and (more) playing with kiddos.

For Lori, that looks like: traveling with Justin, flipping houses, organizing community and friend events, dates (and more dates) with Justin, dream days, design work, and introducing our kiddos to all the foods and all the places!

Many days we feel we are at the end of ourselves and those are the days where we bear down. We hope to write from the heart on the good, the bad and the ugly as we pursue whole being healing!

We invite you to listen to the conversation, and pray it encourages your journey through the thin places!
